RYE WHISKY

1 CUBE
SUGAR

2 DASHES
ANGOSTURA BITTERS

10-15 LEAVES
MINT

1 TBSP
WATER

ICE
LARGE CUBE

GARNISH
ORANGE PEEL

How to Make the Classic Old Fashioned

  1. Place 1 sugar cube in a rocks glass.

  2. Add 2 dashes of Angostura bitters and 1 tablespoon of water.

  3. Gently muddle until the sugar dissolves.

  4. Add 10–15 mint leaves (optional twist) and stir lightly to release aroma.

  5. Pour in 2 oz rye whisky.

  6. Add one large ice cube and stir to chill.

  7. Garnish with a fresh orange peel, expressing the oils over the drink before dropping it in.
