Troy Stevens
Certified Sommelier
WSET Level 2 in Wines
Troy began his career in the restaurant industry as a chef in an Italian kitchen, where his love for cooking evolved into a deep appreciation for the connection between food and wine. Over time, that curiosity grew from a personal interest into a professional pursuit, leading him to explore the balance of flavor, texture, and terroir that defines exceptional pairings.
In February 2025, Troy earned his Certified Sommelier pin from the Court of Master Sommeliers, along with his WSET Level 2 certification in Wines. His background in the culinary arts gives him a unique perspective on wine service and hospitality, blending technical knowledge with a chef’s instinct for flavor harmony.
Troy is currently preparing for the Advanced Sommelier examination, with plans to sit for the exam in 2026. He continues to refine his expertise at Virginia Philip Wine Spirits & Academy, where he is mentored by distinguished professionals and inspired by the pursuit of excellence in every glass.
