Opening the Bottle Properly

Proper bottle service sets the tone and preserves wine integrity.

Steps:

  1. Cut the capsule cleanly just below the lip.

  2. Wipe the neck with a clean cloth to remove dust or cork debris.

  3. Use a wine key to screw in the worm straight and centered.

  4. Pull gently and evenly, avoiding a loud pop. Quiet extraction is considered more elegant.

  5. Inspect the cork for mold, dryness, or damage—these can indicate spoilage.
